- Maria: verified match (maiden name plus parents João [Giovanni] and Teresa [Maffei] match the Italian records).
- Tereza: verified (parents named).
- Pirro “Gagliardo”: probable match, not yet seen on the card. The given name Pirro is rare. No other Pirro Gagliardi/Gagliardo is in the index. The registration was issued in 1940, the same year as Maria’s, and the parents are blank as expected for a foundling. The surname is mis-indexed (FS images are filed by surname, so look in the “Gagliardo-Gahwiler” folder, not “Gaete-Gagliardo”).
What the actual cards should show (not visible without login): exact arrival date and ship, port, address in São Paulo c. 1940, occupation, photo, and fingerprints. Next step: open the FamilySearch images while logged in, or order an APESP “Certidão de Registro de Estrangeiro” (R$ 65,16; the request requires an APESP login and DARE payment, which the user must do personally).
Other related index searches (all negative): nome_pai = “Piro Gagliardi” returns only Tereza. nome_mae = “Maria Braccioli” returns only Tereza, so no other foreign-born children are registered. No “Pirro Gagliardi” under that exact spelling. Variants Galliardi, Gaiardi, Galiardi, and Gagliarde return no hits for this family.
