What is verified (Wayback copy of the inventory landing page)

Section titled “What is verified (Wayback copy of the inventory landing page)”

Wayback snapshots exist only for the landing page (20250210065948, 20260107141422): https://web.archive.org/web/20260107141422/https://inventari-san.cultura.gov.it/inventari/1623

  • Title: Regi Spedali e ospizi di Lucca. Inventario sommario
  • Curator: Molitierno, Michela; date 2021; type: inventario sommario
  • Made in Excel, then imported into Archimista 3.1.1.
  • Structure (summary of description): sections by activity of the Regi Spedali, then series and sub-series; sections/series have date ranges, short description, and notes on maps/plans and photographs; units are chronological, each with title, dates, physical type, antica segnatura, segnatura attuale, short content description (for registers: spine title and internal title).
  • Work began 2016, funded by Fondazione Cassa di Risparmio di Lucca (ASLu “Progetti e attività culturali” call).
  • Responsible/holding: Archivio di Stato di Lucca.
  • inventari-san.cultura.gov.it, sias-archivi.cultura.gov.it, archiviodistatoinlucca.cultura.gov.it, cultura.gov.it: TCP timeout from this machine; WebFetch got ECONNREFUSED (2.42.229.112).
  • Wayback Save-Page-Now attempts (for /inventari/1623/pdf, /inventari/1623/ca/1414951, /inventari/1623/albero) all failed: “target server didn’t respond in time (504)”. Google Translate proxy: 408. So the server is not reachable from US networks generally, not just from this machine.
  • No Wayback copies of any /inventari/1623/ca/* page, of /inventari/1623/pdf, or of the albero page.
  • Common Crawl indexes (2024-2026 sampled): no captures of /inventari/1623/*.
  • Search engines (Bing/Google via WebSearch) have not indexed unit-level pages of inventory 1623.
  • SIAS (sias-archivi) complesso record for the fondo: not archived in Wayback (only page 1 of the ASLu “Fondi” index, 2023, which doesn’t reach “R”).
  • Archives Portal Europe: search results load by JavaScript/API; no evidence the Lucca inventory is harvested there.

=> Unit-level inventory content (series list, unit IDs, shelfmarks for balie/nutrici, segnali, dimessi, matricola, personale/suore) could NOT be retrieved. Recommended: someone with an Italian/EU IP (VPN) opens https://inventari-san.cultura.gov.it/inventari/1623/pdf (whole inventory as PDF), or email ASLu ([email protected], tel. +39 0583 491465).

Indirect evidence of series that exist in the fondo (from the Dec 2021 exhibition)

Section titled “Indirect evidence of series that exist in the fondo (from the Dec 2021 exhibition)”

Exhibit labels read from the photos (small/blurred; readings marked ? are uncertain):

  • 14. “Registro delle gravide occulte”, dates ~1852?–1913? (register of secretly pregnant women)
    1. “Registro delle nutrici”, 1897–1898 (wet-nurse register — so a nutrici/balie series exists covering c.1900)
    1. “[…]cazione di gettatelli”, 1876 (perhaps “Collocazione/Notificazione di gettatelli”?)
    1. “Certificati di nascita e di battesimo”, 1805–1806 (bundle titled “Fedi di Battesimo de’ Figli e Figlie esposte dal 1804 … 1808”)
    1. “Segnali”, 1858–1945 (identification tokens; stored in boxes labelled by year, e.g. “1908”) — so tokens survive for the period of Pirro’s birth (1901)
    1. “Perizie lavori”, 1898 (building surveys/elevations)
    1. “Costruzione IV padiglione Infermi e Sala d’operazione”, 1900 (plans of the hospital, “RR. Spedali di Lucca”)
    1. “Progetto di sistemazione edilizia dei RR Ospedali e Ospizi di Lucca”, 1929
    1. “Sopraelevazione e sistemazione del reparto tubercolotici”, 1946 The ASLu event page (Wayback 20241103183854) confirms the exhibition showed the “segnali” (medals, crosses, coins, cloth, small objects placed in swaddling or hung on the neck of abandoned babies).

  • /inventari/1623/pdf does not work for this inventory: there is no PDF export. The landing page shows only the summary/abstract, with no download.
  • Navigate instead through the unit pages (/ca/<ID>): each page’s breadcrumb links up to its parent series, and a series page lists its child units with shelfmarks.
